Jim Davis is a successful entrepreneur, innovative marketer and internet pioneer with a proven track record building consumer digital businesses with leading business models. He has an extensive experience developing digital brands, leveraging technology to scale new businesses and exploiting the rapid changes in commerce, media and technology. Currently, Mr. Davis is strategically advising entertainment, media and tech companies in Southern California.
Previously, Mr. Davis served as VP Marketing and New Business for eBay where he launched several of the company’s largest business initiatives, negotiated many of the company’s early key strategic partnerships and ramped up eBay’s marketing performance. Mr. Davis helped eBay expand its core business model beyond collectibles and flea market items and accelerate its growth. During his tenure, eBay grew from 6 million to 64 registered users and increased total revenues from $100 million to almost $1.1 billion.
Prior to eBay, Mr. Davis started and sold two consumer driven internet businesses. Earlier in his career, Mr. Davis was a senior executive with Pepsi USA and USA Networks. He has repeatedly built branded businesses, developed business initiatives across multiple distribution platforms and managed rapid growth businesses in the consumer entertainment, media and technology sectors. Mr. Davis holds a Bachelor’s degree from Northwestern University and resides with his family in Los Angeles.
