Mr. Holland’s career spans over thirty years as a senior-level consultant and administrator providing business development, financial, and marketing expertise to the health care industry. He joined FocalPoint as an Industry Coverage Leader in 2010 focusing on healthcare transactions and also serves as President of The Perisil Group Inc., a consulting firm he founded, that provides strategic and tactical services for major hospitals, health care systems, major physician groups, and corporations in the health care sector.
From 2003 to 2005, Mr. Holland was chief business development consultant to Alliance Imaging, Inc., a publicly traded company which is the world’s largest provider of mobile diagnostic imaging services. Working directly with Alliance’s CEO he helped negotiate new fixed-site imaging projects with major hospitals and hospital systems on the east coast and in the Midwest. He also served on the founding Board of Directors for Alliance Oncology, a joint venture between Alliance Imaging and the University of Pittsburgh Medical Center.
Previously, he served as one of the chief outside Business Development consultants for Tenet Healthcare in California. He was a chief resource regarding hospital-MD ASC development, and handled various product line development tasks as well as due diligence for a possible hospital acquisition.
Both for Tenet and other systems he has directed several projects bringing together multiple orthopedic and other specialty practices into “super-group” or collaborative arrangements. He has executed Fair Market Value opinions and Business Valuations for numerous health care entities. A special product line focus has been oncology; including a $100,000,000 project in cancer program development involving three hospital facilities and the USC Medical School, and design of the multi-specialty cancer program for a three hospital system in Florida. Recent projects include issues stemming from national health care policy, including implementation of electronic medical records and strategies for HCO (Health Care Organization) formation.
His client systems have included Providence Healthcare, HCA, CHW, St. Barnabus, Bon Secours, Adventist Health Care, Kindred Healthcare, Southern Regional Health System (Atlanta), N. Michigan Regional Healthcare, Memorial Hermann (Houston), and Cedars Sinai Los Angeles. Independently he has taken leadership roles in several projects, including development of a specialty insurance product, PPM funding, and an LBO effort valued at over $1B.
Mr. Holland holds two advanced degrees, including an M.A. from The Graduate School of Yale University.
