Ujj Nath has thirty years of experience in emerging markets and wil be responsible for covering those markets for FocalPoint.
Mr. Nath is a serial entrepreneur who started his first business in 1979, manufacturing service parts for India's construction and mining equipment industry. For nearly two decades, he has helped leading companies in the automotive, high-tech manufacturing and financial services industries collaborate more effectively with their business partners, make more accurate decisions and respond faster to changing market demands.
Prior to joining FocalPoint, Mr. Nath served as the President, CEO and Co-Founder of Syncata Corporation, a business consulting, and demand and supply chain management solutions firm with a fifteen-year track record serving the automotive industry. Using an industry-focused approach, Syncata leveraged its offshore capabilities and in-house “Business Innovation Center” to deliver practical ROI-driven solutions that increased efficiencies, lowered costs, and improved the levels of service, communication and connectivity within and beyond the enterprise. Founded in 1990, Syncata’s customer list includes American Honda Motor Co., Ducati, Honda Financial Services, Mitsubishi Motors North America, Motorcycle Industry Council, Nissan Motor Co., North American Bus Industries, Roush Industries, Suzuki Motor, Toyota Financial Services, and Toyota Motor Sales. As part of international outsourcing trends, Mr. Nath set up an Indian subsidiary for Syncata to take advantage of India’s lower cost, but educated talent pool.
In 2004, Mr. Nath successfully negotiated the sale of his company to ProQuest, a public company (NYSE: PQE), which was subsequently acquired by Snap-On Tools (NYSE:SNA) in 2005. At Snap-On, he was the Regional Vice President with Snap-on Business Solutions in their Global Accounts organization for the Western United States and also headed the Professional Services Organization for Snap-on Business Solutions. Prior to founding Syncata, Mr. Nath worked in the coporate finance department at Drexel Burnham Lambert. Mr. Nath holds a Bachelor of Science in Metallurgy from the Institute of Technology B.H.U. in Varanasi, India. After successfully transitioning his first business to professional management in 1985, he came to the United States where he earned his Masters in Business Administration from McCombs School of Business at the University of Texas at Austin.
He is currently on the board of USourceIT Inc., FreshiFlims.LLC. In addition he is acting as the interim CEO of USourceIT, Inc.
