Robert Pederzani has over thirty years of experience in the paper and packaging industry and has a broad range of operating and transaction experience. After a distinguished military career, Mr. Pederzani joined Westvaco Corporation and for the next twenty-five years worked in various operating capacities. He ran major paper and packaging facilities and was responsible for significant domestic and international capital projects. He turned around underperforming plants and led major corporate initiatives in product development and sales and marketing.
In 1994, Mr. Pederzani was a key participant in launching an IPO for St. Laurent Paperboard Inc., Montréal, Canada. Mr. Pederzani was initially responsible for worldwide sales and marketing. In this capacity he grew sales from $300 in 1994 to over $800 million in 2000. He was also a leader in the introduction by St. Laurent of high performance, lighter weight and graphics substrates.
As vice president business development he worked on major acquisitions including Chesapeake Corporation, Eastern Container and Paperboard Industries. In 1997, he was appointed president of a new operating division where he led the development of revolutionary packaging substrates and new containerboard strategies.
Following the acquisition of St. Laurent Paperboard in 2000, Mr. Pederzani launched his own consulting company called Fibre Technologies. In 2001 he structured, engineered and built a best-in-class packaging facility in California. He developed a multi-million dollar packaging business focused on sustainable structures and designed wireless technologies including RFID. He holds major contracts with commercial, as well as federal customers, including the Department of Defense. Fibre Technologies represents Lockheed Martin on numerous Defense Department laser technology projects.
Mr. Pederzani graduated from the University of Massachusetts, Amherst, with a BBA in Finance and Marketing.
